Taxi Transfers

Hi

Has anyone travelled to or from the airport in a taxi.  Can you tell me how much it cost please?  We would prefer to do this rather than wait for everyone to get on the coach if the cost isn't too expensive.

We always take a taxi from the airport to our hotel (it's part of our holiday). We have already booked our taxi pickup  this year from Puerto Plata to the Iberostar Costa Dorada via Rafael Silva Travel Service.They are very professional as are their drivers and vehicles, very comfortable + AC.

For my husband John and myself from Puerto Plata to ICD is approx. $30 for the two of us. We also have a taxi return so much more comfortable.

Don't know where you hail from but if you e-mail Rafael he will give you all the information you need, he is very prompt with his replies.

When are you going to the ICD - we travel on the 2nd of October 2005 for two week.(can't wait)

Just a quick note, we have just received our confirmation ref. taxi  transfers from Mr. Silva and the price is just as quoted on his web site $30(same as last year) each way. (he has not put up his prices because of the petrol increases)

I e-mailed Mr Silva last night but haven't had a reply as yet.  Do you just tell your tour operator when you are met at the airport that you have booked a private taxi?   Does he require a deposit, and when do you book the return journey with him?

We pay cash when we are picked up from the airport. You pay the driver, very honest people.

We inform our Tour Rep at Puerto Plata when we arrive that we have a taxi transfer, and that we will see them at the hotel for the first meeting.
