DRESS CODE

Hi

Anyone have any information on the dress code as I was reading on trip advisor that the men were getting refused into the restaraunts because they were wearing sandles. I can understand that they want people to dress up in the speciality restaraunts but I think in the buffet restaraunt that you should be able to wear what you want within reason. I mean if it is as hot as everyone is saying why do you want to be wearing pants, shirt and full dress shoes?

hi,

i was there in may (going back 15 th of november  ) and in the buffet restaurant u would have no problem of getting in on sandals or slippers as we call em. in the specialty restaurants men had to wear long pants. for the rest no problems of shoes or sandals noticed by me!

Thanks for replying it must be good if you are going back again, but could you also tell me wether or not it is ok to wear smart shorts in the buffet restaurant and lobby bar?

Hi ya,
      smart shorts are fine for the buffet resturant as are sandals, the men in our party wore shorts and sandals to the buffet every night. Long trousers and full shoes are only needed for the specialty resturants. Some women dress up more in the evening but most people stay quite casual at night, both men and women.

My partner wore leather sandals in the speciality resturants, we did also see some men in3/4 length trousers, but I would stick to the long trousers to be sure.

My husband was refused entry to the buffet wearing 'flip flops' with shorts in the evening.  I would call them 'smart slip on sandals'.   However we did see a number of men in shorts and flip flops during our 2 weeks there.   Just seem to depend how many people arrived at the buffet restaurant as to how strict they were on entry.  My husband didn't want to take the chance on being 'caught' again so he stuck to long trousers and his 'flip flops'!  Does seem unfair on the guys when children and women can wear next to nothing!!   We were there 2-17 August had a fabulous time.  It was so hot and humid that whatever you started off wearing within10 mins you are HOT.  Sometimes there was a breeze through the buffet restaurant which was lovely. 
As long as you wear a shirt anything goes in the lobby bar.  Even during the daytime if you want a drink from the lobby bar you must wear a shirt - flip flops, shorts, shirt.  Enjoy evey minute - it is wonderful.

My partner and son wore shorts to buffet every evening, and not a problem.  Caz we were there for a week together, wont know who you are unless you spent some time on the stage lol

we were there with my 70 year old parents and our 2 daughters (14 +  10).  We didn't actually make any of the shows! Couldn't keep up with the kids who loved all the star friends and were always up on stage doing  'the dance' - they even bought a CD home - hopefully off to IBS paraiso del mar (Mexico)  next Feb so they will know all the moves!  We were up early in the mornings to enjoy the lovely calm waters of the Atlantic.  Wish I was still there!!

Hello Caz, pigpad is a long story, probably saw your girls on the stage as we usually sat by the window right at the end of the bar near the stage, usually there in time to watch the dance.  Not been to IB in Mexico stayed across the road at RIU, but can vouch for the beach and the resort, you will have a ball I am sure.  Not booked for next year yet got to get onto it though I am later than usual
