this will be our first time at Iberostar beach. We are going with two other couples. Can't wait!!

me and 4 other guys are going to Del Mar march 2 - 12.  judging by most recent posts it sounds like things should be put back together.  really liked the beach boardwalk feature as i use a wheelchair to get around, but will make do in any event.

stayed at tucan/quetzal this passed feb.  was terrific.

Ik kom in Paraiso Del Mar aan op 2 Maart.  Het blijven aan de twaalfde.  Ik zal daar met 4 goede vrienden zijn. 
Wij zouden voor een cocktail bij de staaf moeten samenkomen.   
Ik zal gemakkelijk zijn te erkennen tenzij er een andere mens in een rolstoel is.  :-) ik spreek slechts het Engels maar één van mijn vrienden is Pools.  Misschien na een paar dranken zullen wij elkaar begrijpen.

I'm arriving at the Paraiso Del Mar on March 2.  Staying to the 12th.  I'll be there with 4 good friends. 
We should meet for a cocktail at the bar. 
I'll be easy to recognize unless there is another man in a wheelchair.  :-)  I only speak English but one of my friends is Polish.  Maybe after a few drinks we will understand each other.

Hi Paul,
 My husband and I just returned from a week long stay at the paraiso beach and LOVED IT! My 23 year old son has muscular dystrophy and uses a power wheelchair. We are thinking about trying to get our son to go with us next time we go, but had a lot of concerns as Im sure you can understand. We also have very good friends with a daughter with the same condition that would like to go too.
I would love to hear from you about your experience from your point of view, when you return if you wouldn't mind. We are thinking about going back there in November 2007, so we have lots of time to plan.

No problem, I'll be glad to give you a review.  I'll be able to compare it with the Tucan/Quetzal as I stayed there last year.

In a way I don't want to know this answer but, can you tell me if you saw any sign of them building a boardwalk on the beach?  The hotel has told me they planned to rebuild it in Feb but as of last week there was no work happening.

Hi Paul
At the time we were there (Jan 21-28) we saw no construction being done on it. As a matter of fact, I had commented to my husband about that being one thing that I liked about the other resort we stayed at. They had a nice boardwalk along the beach, which we used frequently to walk on at night. There is a boardwalk that goes by the buffet and out into the sand a little bit, but nothing like the photo you have.
Too bad they don't have those water/sand wheelchairs there, that would be nice.
If you think of anything else you need to know, I will try to help you out. I always notice things like that, because I'm always thinking about my son being able to go places with us.
