Something is very wrong at Iberostar. The silence is deafening

man im jealous i dont like the guy already. your points are very valid, i am grasping at straws because i love the del mar its my honeymoon and i am booked for dec2-9 and i hope that these "complete destruction" posts are balony and lack of information from iberostar doesnt confirm that.as i have said before only time will tell.

Yeah, me too.  I have been to Del Mar three times and Lindo once and I actually went back to Del Mar this year and planned to in summer 2006 because it is our favorite.  I really hope some of these unofficial comments are 'rumors' that have been twisted down the pipeline, if not and they are true, you woudl think they woudl be out of commission for at least a few times.  My other cocnerns, imagine the devastation to the wild life and grounds.  That is one fo the big draws, the natural beauty of the resort and how hard our Mexican bretheren work to keep it perfect. 

Regardless, best wishes to you raider and i will continue to hope for you that Del Mar will be perfect and ready to go for your honeymoon!

Raider, it is because there are so many conflicting reports that it is important for the Iberostar management to publically make a statement.

I know the wait has not been fun. However, I do believe that they need to get all the people out of there first and then, get the big wigs in there to give their assessment on the properties.  Patience is a virtue.

Ok...we all need to take a deep breath and remember that these people in Mexico have gone thru alot of stress.  I have been in hurricanes and it can be really awful.   We need to remember that hotel employees might have lost their cars, homes, etc.  Plus, they need to have construction experts look for structural damage, etc.   After, all, look at how long it took to get the right info from Katrina.  

Let's give them a break until tomorrow afternoon.  Then, I'll join you in being ticked!

I don't doubt that the IB staff are doing everything possible to make things easier on the guests. That is why I keep going back.
Not knowing is so frustrating. But I can't imagine the stress that the staff is going through. Not to mention how exhausted they must be. They are the hardest working people I have ever met.

   No, they don't have to get the people OUT to make an assessment, but they do have to get their reps IN to make an assessment. The airport has been closed, so they have been unable to do that. Iberostar's main office in Miami was hit by the hurricane yesterday. We have no choice but to wait and see what the official word will be. Just be happy you weren't there during the hurricane!!

I'm based in France. At the moment it's 21 H 35 PM.

This morning i've send a mail to Iberostar in spain (reservas@iberostar.com) At  8 H 30 AM Local.
With my request for news about iberostar resorts in mexico i asked for a Mail Receipt.

I've was proud by receiving my receipt.

But at the moment (13 hours after), no more mews from Iberostar Spain.

My conclusion is that business is businness, and at the moment Iberostar may have more dammage than others and they should get nervous because of this.

Looks like some sort of auto response rather than a direct response to your inquiry.  I wouldn't get too worked up about it as a response.  The lack of a real reaponse is what's bad as well as a lack of media strategy.

Forgive me, I am new to this.  I am supposed to be married at the lindo on Dec 2 and was hoping to get some kind of information about the status of the resort.  I have tried everything else I can think of to get information.  It looks as though everyone else is as concerned/frustrated as I am.  Any information would be very much appreciated.
