We have been to the Tucan twice last year and I understood that we would receive T shirts for being return guests. It will not stop us from going back and we already have a trip planned for Dec,05.  Does anyone know the policy? thanks in advance for the help

don't know about the T-Shirts but because we were return guest at the lindo we got to make dinner reservations 2 Weeks before we got there .

My husband and our TA e mailed the IB PC last year and told them we were return guests.  We got a nice card, fruit platter and bottle of rum when we arrived.  They also had a champagne cocktail party with gifts for return guests while we were there.  We were very impressed! thumbsup

We got T-shirts and a fruit platter at the Maya. Also a bottle of tequila and a couple jars of nuts, but I think that's standard at the Maya from some reviews I've read.

They let me make a dinner reservation in advance by e-mail. They told me they didn't usually do this but were making an exception in my case. They didn't say why, but I did mention I was a returning guest.

We also got a free upgrade from Junior to Superior Suite. Again, no reason was given, but I'm sure the fact that we were returning guests played a role. I do think they make a special effort for returning guests.

is that only for staying in the same hotel?  we stayed at the quetzal one year and then the tucan the next (which are practically the same but I know they are technically 2 different hotels) and didn't get anything for being return guests.  thanks!

you need to email the resort 2 weeks before you  arrive and let them know that this is your third visit to Iberostar
Resorts and list the dates you were there and don't be shy about asking for extras for being a return quest.it never hurts to ask . we go to alot of Sandals resort to and we let them know and we allways get extra including room upgrades . this is resorts baseness and they want to please you so you will return and tell other people so they want to go there to.

I e-mailed the Lindo about a month before going to let them know I was returning for a second time and I did get a response from the hotel.  At check-in I was informed that I had been upgraded from the Lindo to the Maya and 2 t-shirts with a note were in my room when I returned from dinner my first evening.  I also did not have any difficulty making dinner reservations, including being able to get one for the same day.  The tequila and 2 bottles of nuts were placed in the room the following day by the maid so I think that must be customary at the Maya.

I am booked for the Lindo for the first week of October so I'm hoping that I may get some of the perks again. dancing

The problem that I have is that I email the Tucan and never get a response back.  Does anyone know a secret?  We are also arriving 12/23 and are a little concerned about not getting reservations for christmas eve.  Any suggestions?

About once every two weeks e-mail them again until you get a response.  Because of the recent Hurricane they may be overwhelmed.  Also if you booked through a tour company they don't usually get your name until 10-14 days prior to your arrival.  And are reluctant to accept any requests.  They won't guarantee any requests only that they will try their best.
