We have booked through Going places(Airtours) and our invoice said that we are fyling Prestiage which includes VIP Suite at Airport, taxi transfers to the Hotel.  Just wondering does everyone staying in the Iberostar get this treatment and is it true?

We booked through Eclipse so didn't get that package but did get return transfers to the hotel. In eclipse the Iberostar is a premiere hotel and you get extra baggage allowance and some other stuff for booking that hotel.

If it states that on your invoice then that is what you should expect to get.  Its obviously all part of the package you have just paid for.  Its not automatic for all Iberostar Guests - its not the hotel that is providing these extras, its the Travel Company.

We booked through Direct Holidays and flew with Mytravel, we upgraded to Premier Gold seating on the plane.  It was fantastic value for money, the seats were leather with lots of room (great on a long trip),free drinks all the way, extra movies, extra baggage allowance and priority baggage claim.  We did have to pay extra for the VIP lounge and the taxi transfer though.

Val, we did the same. Booked with Direct Holidays and flew with My Travel.  I completely agree about the upgrade to the Premiair Gold being well worth the extra money.  Our flight out was 13 hours as we had to refuel in Halifax in Canada but it was a great flight due to the extra comfy seats, movies, drinks and just the general service overall.  We were well impressed and would definatley upgrade again.

My girlfriend and I have booked to go to Costa Dorada 19th Jul 2006 through Going Places (Airtours).  On the Airtours website this is what the Premiair Gold Class includes:  We have booked this also so I was wondering from other peoples experiance what its like?Huh

Think it all depends on luck whether you find it value for money, sometimes it does go wrong.  We met some people who had paid for premier gold, the extra movies were not working for them, their baggage came through at both ends after ours, the comfy leather seats were torn, and some of the head set units didnt work, they were left feeling they had paid an awful lot of money to get the morning paper!!  Fingers crossed for you that you get one of the better planes as the others did.  We have flown with the regular prestige package and never had a problem.  Airtours also have the added bonus of being able to check in for your flight the night before it leaves, we live 5 minutes from the airport and take advantage of this, handy too if you are staying at a hotel airport overnight, next morning for your flight you have already checked your luggage, got your boarding cards so you just arrive and go straight to passport control, takes an awful lot of time and stress out of an already long day

Hi

We went to the Costa Dorada for two years running as we loved it so much.

We upgraded the flight with MyTravel the second time we went. We flew from Manchester and it made a lot of difference.

We didn't have to queue at all for check-in, we had a larger baggage allowance and didn't have to check in as early.
There was use of the private lounge on both outbound and inbound flights but we went shopping instead!
Once we got on the plane we were greeted with a champagne or fresh orange prior to take-off.

Throughout the flight we had our own screens on the back of headrests (as did all seats on the plane) however, we got extra channels (two were just released films) and free headsets. There was a lot more leg room and separate toilets. We got served fresh fruit thoughout the flight, nicer food than everyone else and drinks, chocolate and crisps etc when wanted it and for no extra cost.

When we landed in the Dominican we were off the plane first and got our baggage first.

The return flight was just as good. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is beautiful, the food is lovely, the entertainment is fantastic and the staff cannot do enough for you. Drinks are served until 2am and food is served 24 hours. You get a free mini bar in your room which is water, various soft drinks and lagers but ours was restocked daily.
