reservation for dinner

Does anyone know the reservations times for dinner.  Do they go from 6 to 9 pm or later?  I'm arriving on 31 December and I want to try to contact Iberostar Maya early to see if they will let us make a reservation for the 31.

In the past each ala carte had set times for reservations kinda like different seatings on a cruise ship.  Each one was different.  You are going at a very busy time of the year and they might not take reservations until you arrive.  E-mail them and aks if you can make them in advance.

you should be able to schedule dinner for your whole trip when you arrive through your concierge. if you know what days you want to eat where and when. Plus i believe the maya has a concierge for each building so that should make it very convient.

Thats v.cool-were tryimg to decide between Iberostar Maya and the Riu Palace-and that just may be the difference-cant stand the lining up thing every am...

That has always been the deal-breaker for us with RIU, too. Plus, I hear that RIUs have assigned seating times even for the dinner buffet! At all the Iberostars, you can show up any time at the buffets, without reservations. You only need reservations for the a la cartes, and you can make those any time.

Hi vandam - we are also arriving Dec 31.  I asked our travelagent if any special event for New Years, but they were unaware.  We've stayed at Lindo & Maya twice in past 20 months.  I think dinner reservations may go until 9:30 or so, but with younger kids we've always gone for the earlier seatings.  See you there!

I guess what I am trying to find out is what is the absolute latest time for dinner.  When we have been at the Lindo and Maya we always took the 6 or 7 pm time, but do they take reservations as late as 9:30?  Does anyone remember??

I believe  9:30 is the latest they take reservations.

Question about restaurants...

Recently, due to some kind of storm or something,    poor attendance resulted in people being upgraded to the Lindo/Maya side. The Beach and Del Mar were closed. Now they have re-opened the rooms on the Beach side only but not the Del Mar. I am booked in the Beach so it looks like I'll not be upgraded, but instead get exactly what I paid for (whine) with regards to room. However because the Del Mar side is still closed I have been told that some of the specialty restaurants are not available to me.
Does anyone know if I will be offered the use of any of the restaurants on the Lindo side to compensate?
