Snorkeling from Iberostar Cozumel

We are looking for a relatively easy snorkel from Iberostar.  I have read about Chankanab Nature Park...is it worth going to or is it just as nice off the shore of the resort?  Has anyone walked the trails of the park?
Looking for a recommendation on tours to Chichen Itza and Tulum. 
Any local markets for shopping near the resort?  Local art, etc.?  Sounds like the "town" is kind of expensive to get to.  Do the taxis have one rate per car load or is it per person?

Haven't been to the IB* Cozumel, but I *can* tell you that Chankanaab is awesome! Best snorkeling we've ever done. Fantastic variety of coral & colorful fish. A humongous barracuda cruised by right underneath us. It was great!

i have some information about Cozumel.  We went to Chankanaab was great.  The nature trails are pretty cool.  There is one that you can see a bunch of ancient ruins and where they were from.  The snorkeling was great too.  It is really calm and there are many fish that swim right next to you.  I also recommend swimming with the sea lions or dolphins.

The snokeling off of the beach at the Iberostar is okay.  If you snorkel right under the pier, you will probably see thousands of fish swimming under there.

If you are looking for art, they sell some stuff right next to the pool at Iberostar Cozumel.  There is on guy that makes awesome paintings with just spraypaint, newspaper and one other tool.  There is another guy that paints onto a tile with his fingernail.  It is amazing!

We just returned from Cozumel and had a blast at Chankanaab.  IT was beautiful.  We had so much fun snorkeling there that we didn't see anything else.  We did swim with the dolphins $125 pp for Royal Swim or $75 per adult (kid free) for dolphin interaction program.  Your best bet is to go when they open--before the cruisers get there.  They open around 8:30 am and close 12 hrs later.  I saw all kinds of fish including: flounder, baracuda, trigger fish, chub, sgt. majors, snapper, queen angels, french angels, tons of varieties of parrot fish.  If you don't have an underwater camera, get one!  Snorkel outside of the children's lagoon.  I took a digital camera and bought an underwater housing for my camera before I went.  It was perfect.  We would look through the pictures each night and delete the ones that weren't any good.  I also bought an underwater color filter for the camera but did not use it as I dodn't snorkel or take pictures  deep enough for it to matter.  My pictures turned out great!  I am still working on my on-line photo album for folks to see.  Also, we did a snorkel tripo from the dive shop at our hotel through Manta Sports, on the Manta.  It was FANTASTIC!  Antonio, who booked our tour, was gereat and the guys that ran the boat and the trip were entertaining as well as informative.   Hope that helps!  If you need more info, please feel free to ask!
