Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about the Tucan/Quetzel and dealing with a family of 5(2 adults, children 9,10,12 years old)We have stayed at Bavaro Suites DR and they allow 5 in a room.At the Paraiso Beach they also allowed 5 in 1 room as long as we upgraded to a junior suite(worth it compared to paying for 2 rooms)Will the Tucan allow the same.BTW the Lindo would not allow 5 in a room under any circumstances. Thanks in advance!

I would think if they allowed at the Paraiso Beach they should allow it at the Tucan/Quetzel. As long as you upgrade to a junior suite again. E-mail them and ask. Heres their cotact info

They will not allow 5 in a room.  I traveled there this summer with my husband and 3 boys (ages 6,9,13) and had to have two rooms.

You do indeed need to have 2 rooms. Very inconvenient for large family but that is the case with MOST AI's in Mexico. Undecided

The resorts will only allow five in a room if there are the sleeping arrangements for five.  We stayed at the Lindo last year and they only have two beds in a room.  Like the Del Mar and the Beach, the Tucan/Quentzal can accomodate five.  Each standard room comes with two double beds and a lounger.  They will make up the lounger with bedding so that the fifth member can sleep there.
