Best way to book Iberostar Maya

Seems like The Maya cannot be booked direct w/Iberostar on line-and they dont seem to be on most larger booking sites?
where have you found the best rates for Ibero

I go to Yahoo travel myself.  Not sure about the prices differences with others but it would be a starting point.

Go to Sell off vacations.com or I travel 2000 that is where i saw the best deals. I booked through a TA and they matched the best price i could find on the net. I like to go through a TA because i really believe that you get better service but thats my opinion.

Heres a link to Signature Vacations where the Maya is available and I also agree with IB lover booking with a travel agent is probably the best in case you have any unforeseen problems they are easier remedied when you have someone in your corner. Transat Vacations also have the Maya available through them. Also check with the various wholesale travel companies in your city as they provide excellent prices also.

Agreed-its wierd though-either my TA who has been great in the past is losing her touch, or she cannot find any hotel only rates for Ibero that arent higher than package rates(we have our own flights on points)

So what you're saying is your travel agent is having a hard time finding out what the land only costs would be for the Iberostar Maya. Could be it's just that their system does not recognize land only inquiries or your agent is just that green and doesn't know how to overcome problems. I would check with as many other places as you can. Or e-mail the hotel direct and ask them.

No-she's not green at al-25 yrs plus experience, it just seem like Ibero may be locked up with package providers(flight, hotel and transfers)
I need room only as we have our flights already(we were booked at the Ritz in CAncun)
The rate they quoted to her at Ibero was almost 800$(us dollars) a night for 2 adults and a 2yr old -which makes no sense at all

I just tried Applevacations Hotel Only option for 01/02-01/09
$2,821.00 (american) for Iberostar Maya for 2 adults and 2 year old

2 Adults   Price Per Adult: 1393.00
Child 1 (Age: 2)   Price Per Child: 35.00

which ends up being 400 a night.

But for 12/24-12/31 week
4515.00 which is $645 a night (american) which is probably around 800 canadian?

Don't know if this helps in Canada, but we booked the Maya for Apr 6-13 thru Pleasant Holidays. We have also used them a couple times before, once to Hawaii. Very easy to deal with and we have never had any problems. We like the fact that you don't have to pay all up front.
