Just wondering if anyone who returned recently could tell me about the weather and what we should expect between Dec. 15 - 22.  Was it hot?  Did it rain?  I am hoping for heat!!!!

It's always hot there. Of course it doesn't take much to be warmer than here in Canada at that time. Rain usually doesn't last longer than about an hour but that's not to say there isn't any exceptions to the rule. Besides a rainy day in paradise is always better than a rainy day at home. I wouldn't worry too much, I'm sure you will find plenty of sunshine.  sun  sun

You can get a general idea of what the weather will be like by looking at the same time period in previous years at Weather Underground:
http://www.weatherunderground.com/history/airport/MMUN/2004/12/15/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA

Don't believe the forecasts, though, at least not Accuweather or Weather.com. They predict rain a lot more than it actually occurs.

.... Don't know about the rest of you guys, but WHO CARES ?   LOL

It's -20F here this morning and even if it's +60F when we arrive, you'll still see me in the pool !

Like they say, a bad day in Mexico sure beats a great day at home in January !

I'm just fantasizing about the beach every time I lay on the tanning beds !!!  beach1

laugh Blacker,
How true, are you really tanning? Does anyone know if the tanning beds helps with avoiding a sunburn? I have heard that its a different kind of tan and it won't help. If it does help I guess I NEED  to be in one. not sure

I personally believe the tanning beds help. I find when I put on a base tan from the tanning beds before I leave I'm less likely to get a serious burn. But still use common sense when staying out in the sun. Like use a high spf if you are prone to burning. The sun is definitely stronger than here in Canada so you can burn very easily. beach1

IB Lover,

We always have pre-tanned these lily-white Canadian hides before we travel, not so much to get a tan, but to condition your skin with a good base tan.  We spend about 300 minutes each and go slooooowly.  When we arrive in Mexico, we still have that newby look that all northerners have, but we then tend to tan quickly without the burns, because of the base tan already there.

It would be a real shame to go all that way, just to burn quickly on your arrival & spend the next few days inside nursing a bad burn.

Especially with the summer we didn't have in Edmonton this year, pre-tanning is that much more important !!

Besides that, it really helps getting you in the mood !!

All the medical experts say that sunbed tans don't help prevent burns from the real sun... but my personal experience has been that they definitely do help.

So if anyone's keeping track, that's three votes for pre-tanning, none against.   thumbsup

I am not sure about the weather this year, or last year for that matter but in 2003 there were two weeks in the winter where at night it got chilly. Don't think you will see much rain, but bring a sweater or light jacket just in case.
