Paraiso beach question

Hi
I was wondering if the resort supplies you with flotation devices (air mattress, inner tubes etc) for use in their pools?
Also, if we have any choice of room, what is the best location to try to be, and how much is it usually to upgrade once you've arrived.

They have floats for sale in the gift shop, but they do not supply them. If you already have some, or can buy them cheaply at home, I'd take them with you. They are fun to use in those big pools! The dive shop will inflate them for you.

Best location depends on your preferences. The resort is very long, and runs west from the beach with most of the restaurants at the west end, and the pool nearer the beach. So if you're near the beach and pool, you're far from the restaurants and theater. My personal preference is to be near the beach so it's quieter at night, but some people prefer to be convenient to the restaurants, lobby, etc.

The suites run about $200-500 (U.S) per week more than a standard room, and the Lindo usually runs $300-600 more per person per week than the Beach/Del Mar. Might be even more at peak times like January. However, I've never heard of anyone paying upon arrival to upgrade. If there is any upgrade availability, they usually give free upgrades to returning guests, honeymooners, etc. If you really want an upgrade, I'd contact your travel agent and try to set it up in advance.

Yep - as CoralReef said - the only floats they have are in Lazy River at Lindo/Maya, and those you can use only for the Lazy River.  So bring your own.

also if anyone in your family likes riding waves - you may want to bring a boogie board.  My kids had a blast last year with their boards and there were some very envious kids watching them.
