ChildCare and Baby item rentals - any suggestions/ideas 2yr old & 3mnth old

Hi Folks:

We are travelling to a wedding from Jan 7-Jan 15/06 - along with our 2.5yr old, & 3 mnth old. I am a little nervous travelling with the 3mnth old but not much we can do about it. 
Does anyone know if cribs/pack&plays can be rented - or any suggestions that will help make the trip easier with 2 kids at these ages. As well is there childcare for 2.5yr old (we will take 3mnth with us most of time).
Any suggestions/ info that you could provide that may help with the kids would be very appreciated.

Does anyone know if cribs/pack&plays can be rented.

As far as I remember, we requested and they provided a crib for our kid (though it was in another Iberostar - La Romana or Tucan - but the policy is probably the same).
If you really want to be sure about that (and to make sure that it is ready) - I suggest e-mailing or calling the resort before you go there

They were really quick to reply.

You may also consider getting a room with a bathtub  - there are two kinds of rooms: 
a) king bed and a shower
b) two double beds and a bathtub

They provide high chairs for kids in restaurants.

You can hire babysitters there, your kids are too young for the kid's club.
Do not overheat your kids, especially in the first few days.

We were at the Maya in March and when we arrived, our room had a crib in it. I'm really not sure why because we were traveling with our kids 11 and 13 . So I do know that they have cribs but I think that it would be a good idea to call or email ahead to let them know that a crib will be needed.

We're travelling the same timeframe as you (Jan 5-12), and our daughter will be almost 9 months old at that time. We are also travelling with friends who have a 15 month old and an almost 4 year old. It's nice to see some other travellers at the time with kids similar ages. Maybe they can have a playdate.    I've read that the resort does have babysitters. Also i believe that if there is a kids pool and play area in the kids club, and a younger than 4 year old could still use these, if parent is with them.

Thanks to the poster who included the email information. We requested a king bed not realising it didn't have a bathtub. but we can put her in the shower just the same. i'd rather have the king bed in the event she hates the crib. does anyone know if the cribs are newer or old ones etc?

The crib that they gave us that we didn't need was new. That was in the Maya. They may have different cribs for different areas of the resort. If they give you an old one just ask for a newer one, tell them you know that they have new wooden ones  .
