wow that is great news about Jamaica we want to go some where next year but probably not Mexico since we were just there so we are looking at islands or maybe Costa Rica or any other location that isn't too far of plane ride (we are in New England). Thanks for the tip I'll look for info on Jamaica.

Did you have an iron and ironing board in your room at the Lindo?  My husband and I stayed and the Maya last year and we had one there.  I wondered whether the Lindo provided them in their standard rooms or not.  (I've seen mixed responses regarding this in previous posts.)

I did have an iron and an ironing board in my room. My iron did not work and I called maybe 8-10 times and never got a working one. I finally borrowed one from a friend in another room, did my ironing for the week and returned it.

Hi Sparkles (love that moniker!):  I'm getting married at the Lindo in June and will be with 13 friends.  I'm trying to find out about the excursions before we arrive so that I can give my guests a clue before we get to the resort.....any suggestions?

I did not pay a lot of attention to tours we did not take. My best advice would if you booked through a group like apple or funjet to contact them. They all have reps there and should know about activities. There were several snorkel options, diving, deep sea fishing, ATVing, sight seeing, tours of ruins, etc. Quite a bit to do. Sorry I wasn't more help.

Sparkles, I just came back from Jamaica and passed by the new Iberostar being built there (from what I've heard there will be a total of 3).  It is supposed to open in the fall and is not more than 45 minutes from the Montego Bay airport.

Suz, were you at Couples in Jamaica?  How did you like it, and how do you compare it to the Lindo.  We were there in the early 80's when it first opened and we are very interested in the new Iberostar in Jamaica.  Is it near any of the big hotels?

we have been to couples ocho Rios and also couples negril we like negril the best because the beach is much bigger the service is the same at both GREAT
