WE JUST RETURNED FROM THE DEL MAR YESTERDAY Cry  THE HOTEL WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.  WE ARE READY TO BOOK NEXT YEARS TRIP ALREADY!!!  THIS TIME WE WANT TO EXTEND IT FROM A WEEK TO 10 DAYS.

Or 14 nights if you can afford it. I agree one week is just not enough time. We were there 2 weeks and frankly I could've easily stayed for another 2. Now I'm busy trying to make lots of money so I can return This coming January-February.

LucyS - Loved your daughter's trip report.
We are headed there in June for 10 days - it was actually cheaper for us than 7, so I guess we get to be spoiled!! Can not wait!

I know how you feel.  Two years ago when we left Del Mar, the time we spent in the lobby awaiting our transfer tot he airport was very very very depressing.  We went to Lindo last year and that was simply breathtaking as well.  I make my triumph return to Del Mar in just 31 days!!!!  I do understand the pain!

Did you do any excursions/group trips while you were there?  If so, which ones and how did you book them?

Which restaurants did you like at the Del Mar?

KB2079,

We booked our excursions prior to going.  We did the Fat Cat Catamaran and the Alltournative Zip Line.  They were both great.

We ate at the Japanese, Tropical and Italian at the Lindo.  We had wanted the Steakhouse but it was booked for the week.  The Japanese and the Tropical was very good.  We did not enjoy the Italian very much.  Make sure you book your reservations as soon as you get there, especially the Japanese and the Steakhouse, they book up fast.

Did you find the pricing on the excursions to be much more expensive down there than it was when you booked ahead of time?

No, not really.  On the Alltournative I saved 10% and the Fat Cat we all got free t-shirts.

Did you stay in a jr. suite or regular room?  I'm trying to find out if the regular rooms have coffee makers and alarm clocks.

We stayed in a Jr. Suite.  I don't know whether the regular room have them, sorry.

RGayle, I was told by Loreto (the Public Relations Manager) that all rooms now have coffee makers in them. If you want to be really sure just e-mail her at rpparaiso@iberostar.com.mx and ask. I would also ask about the alarm clocks although you can have the front desk call and wake you up at whatever time.

Thank you MexicanBob,  that is what I'll do since I keep reading different things on coffe maker.  Would like to have the coffee but can do without the alarm clock!!

Hi we went to the beach hotel and absolutely loved it. I and two friends plan to return in 2008( i know it seems ages away but the prices are sooooo dear especially when flying from england) can't wait to go back. Have a great time everyone who is going. Gem xXx
